Information for those attending workshops:

Location
All our workshops take place in our lovely shop at 68 High Street, Totnes, Devon, TQ9 5TB. Our workshop space is at the back of the shop, lit by a large skylight and we have a range of new Brother sewing machines that you can use so you don't need to bring your own machine. We are about half way between Plymouth and Exeter, and about half an hour from Dartmouth. The shop is 10 minutes' walk from Totnes rail station, which is on the main line from London to Penzance. See below for more details.

Food

For full day workshops please note we provide lots of tea, coffee and biscuits but we don't provide lunch. We suggest you bring some food with you, which you can eat in our shop with others from your workshop during a break.

There are also several cafes nearby where you can get takeaway food but please be aware the queues can be a bit slow at lunchtime!

Cancellations and Refunds

We try our very hardest never to cancel a workshop that we have advertised and we rarely do. However occasionally we don't have enough participants to make a class viable and in this case we reserve the right to cancel if necessary.

If we do cancel a workshop we will do our utmost to transfer your place to a similar workshop or will refund your fee in full.

If you need to cancel a booking, please be aware that we
require a full 72 hours' notice to refund any fee paid for a workshop.

If we manage to resell your place we will be happy to refund your fee in full, however if we can't resell your place no refund will be payable.

We do realise that people get ill, children get sick and parents go into hospital at short notice - it happens to us too! But we ask you to understand that we book teachers to lead many of our workshops, and when we teach ourselves we require two staff to be here, so refunding last minute cancellations means that we may not be able to cover the cost of running the workshop.

Parking

Parking can seem tricky in Totnes but there are several options. If you are attending a workshop on Monday-Thursday you should find a space in one of the many town centre car parks. Follow the signs to the car parks, most of which are situated behind the market square.
When you cross the market square onto the High Street, turn left and head up the hill to the top. The road bears round to the left and our shop is just after the turn, on the left hand side.

If you come on a Friday or Saturday parking can be difficult because of the Totnes market on these days and the car parks fill up early.

If you can arrive in town by 9am you'll find a space in the car parks and can then have a nice leisurely coffee before coming to your class! Or, if you plan to arrive later, here are some options:

If you arrive from the direction of South Brent, you can park for free on the main road at the edge of Totnes near the council offices at Follaton. It takes approx 10 minutes to walk into town from there and it is a fairly flat walk.

There is a long stay car park down by the river at Steamer Quay. You should allow a good 20 minutes to walk from there up to our shop - it is uphill but you will have the delight of seeing the whole of Totnes High Street on your way!

You can pay to park your car in the station car park all day, though this does fill up. There is also a car park by the leisure centre near the industrial estate at the bottom of town. Allow 20 minutes to walk up from there to the shop.

Train is a good option - we are 10 minutes' walk from Totnes railway station. Come out of the station on the ticket office side and walk up to the main road. Cross the main road and go straight over into Kistor Gardens. You will see a white house on the right and a red brick terrace on your left. Keep walking past the Victorian terrace and then cross straight over the road and head up the narrow path opposite signposted Totnes Castle.
At the top of the path go straight on until you meet the High Street. Turn right and go round the bend and we are on the left hand side at no 68.
